Geodesic Construction & Installation

Have you been dreaming about your own geodesic dome?

My name is Tovel. I combine artistry and craftsmanship to create meaningful spaces. Before I was a builder, I was an artist, sculpting clay and stone, drawn to shape, grace, and movement. That artistic eye now guides my work with wood, where I specialize in custom geometric carpentry, home finishing, and geodesic dome installations.

Carpentry, to me, is the art of bringing harmony to complexity. Every project is unique, requiring adaptability, precision, and an understanding of both detail and the bigger picture. From out-of-the-box designs to projects needing graceful completion, I thrive in creating structures that are both functional and elegant.

What sets me apart is the breadth of my background. My deploma in Mechanical engineering honed my problem-solving skills. My training in martial arts instilled discipline, safety, and focus. Decades of circus, dance, and performance gave me an eye for movement and ergonomics in design. As a registered acupuncturist, I bring an added awareness of how construction choices affect health, striving wherever possible to use materials and methods that respect both people and the environment.

I also hold deep respect for old forests and primary growth, recognizing their irreplaceable role in the health of our planet and the responsibility we share in protecting them.

With gratitude to my many carpentry mentors: Yoann Gonzalez, Brent Baker, Sam Burrard, Martin Bry, Matt Pysh, Joshua Freezbe and Matt Enns for hiring and mentoring me. And to Freyja Skye for trusting me to install and prototype so many Phoenix Domes designs.
